Why I Fell Out Of Love With Blogging

Dear world – I’m back! In case you’re wondering where I’ve been, I took four months off to eat kitkats and ponder life. And here I am – 6lbs heavier (I like to think it’s all the new ideas I’m carrying, but my bod says otherwise) and as calm as someone who’s done nothing for an entire season.

All jokes aside though, I really found myself falling out of love with blogging for a while there. I mean, come on world – there are only so many outfit of the day’s and Gucci bags one person can take! (Petition against #OOTD anyone)?… 2017 started with me praying for a little more depth to social media, but who am I kidding? It’s taken a huge step back to reassess my true passions to realise that actually I don’t really give two craps if no one likes my oversized man repelling wardrobe, or if none of my followers share my love of painting and healthy snacks.

It also took four months for me to realise I have so many more skills than I show in my online life – skills that I find hard to convey over a flat digital screen. I paint, I draw, I knit, I sew and I make a lot of my clothes, but for some reason I never show that side of my life. I know almost no one in my everyday life who shares those interests (apart from my little sister – hey Miranda), and it’s so sad. Sometimes I really miss our uni studio, painting together and feeding off each other’s ideas.

Alas, I’ll be picking up my sketchbook again alone with my cat. If anyone wants to start a painting club, I’ll be here. Waiting.

Omg honestly I’ve done nothing but sit around like a potato for a million years, I think 6lbs was an understatement
